11th Amendment
The US cannot extend any suit in law or equality. This amendment was ratified on February 5, 1795.
12th Amendment
That the Electors vote in state for the president and vice president. This amendment was ratified on June 15, 1804.
13th Amendment
Gets rid of slavery and making someone serve against their will. Unless punished for a crime you do not have to serve for someone. This amendment was ratified on December 6, 1865.
14th Amendment
Says that all people born in the US are considered citizens and does not allow states to lower the privileges of anyone. It also makes sure each citizen has equal protection under the law. This amendment was ratified on July 9, 1968.
15th Amendment
Gave all men the right to vote. Regardless of color or if they have been slaves or not. This amendment was ratified on February 3, 1870.
16th Amendment
Gave congress the power to give and collect taxes. This amendment was ratified on February 3,1913.
17th Amendment
The Senate of the US will have two senators from each state and shall serve for 6 years. Each senator has one vote. This amendment was ratified on April 8,1913.
18th Amendment
The production, sale, and transportation of alcohol are illegal. This act was also known as Prohibition. This amendment was ratified on January 16, 1919.
19th Amendment
Gives women the right to vote. This is also known as woman’s suffrage. This amendment was ratified on August 18, 1920.
20th Amendment
Gave details of office for the president and congress. This amendment was ratified on January 23, 1933.
21st Amendment
Gets rid of the 18th Amendment. Makes it legal to produce, sell, and transport alcohol. This amendment was ratified on December 5, 1933.
22nd Amendment
Limits how long the President can serve which is 10 years. If the Vice President serves for the president’s terms he or she can serve two more years. This amendment was ratified on February 27, 1951.
23rd Amendment
Gives Washington D.C representation in the Electoral College. This means that citizens in D.C have the right to vote. This amendment was ratified on March 29, 1961.
24th Amendment
People do not have to pay a poll tax to vote. This amendment was ratified on January 23, 1964.
25th Amendment
If the President is Unable to serve anymore the Vice President temporarily detailed. February 10, 1967.
26th Amendment
Makes the required age to vote 18 years of age. This amendment was ratified on July 1, 1971.
27th Amendment
People in congress cannot change their salary until the beginning of the next session of congress. This amendment was ratified on May 7, 1992
